Hi, I'm Jen!
It’s my mission to transform your life!
You’re super successful professionally. As a woman, you’ve probably had to work twice as hard to get where you are in your career, and it’s made you a perfectionist who is afraid to let go of the need for control. You want to focus on that ONE aspect of your personal life that’s always getting in the way (or is it more like 15,000 aspects of your personal life? It’s all just so overwhelming).
You likely feel like there’s no time to fit it all in and still be happy. And you want to be able to say “no” when people ask you for favors, without feeling guilty. You’re exasperated with feeling like your schedule is controlling you instead of the other way around.
You’ve been putting others first for so long that you’ve lost sight of what’s best for you. You’ve been running on empty, and now it’s time to stop.
Therapy can help with all of these things and more. Let me help you finally get a handle on your life.
Are you ready to be free?
Yes! You can be helped!
I know how hard it can be to change your patterns, but I’m here to help. With my guidance and support, we’ll take a look at the underlying issues that have been holding you back from living a life that feels truly fulfilling—and then we’ll change them.
I believe in creating healthy relationships with yourself and others, and I know that when we’re balanced, we are able to accomplish anything. That’s why I’m here: to help you get back in control of your life and take care of yourself for once!
Wanna know what therapy with me is like,
what you’re getting into?
Fair…
I have a core belief that a sense of humor is essential to living a fulfilling life. I like to use mine. Regularly. And it may come with some colorful language (and by colorful I mean starts with F and is four letters), because sometimes there just is no better way to express what we feel. It’s necessary for you to know this because this is how therapy works - we have to be real, sometimes about the hard things.
Hate laundry and psychobabble? Yeah, me too!
I believe in giving you practical tools, from day one. No “therapy speak,” just real talk, straight shooting, help.
Also, I have a white board that I go everywhere with. It’s always been entertaining to my colleagues and clients to watch me roll it around the office while trying not to trip.
Alas, while I always tell my clients to “let that s*** go,” I have myself struggled with feeling somewhat mournful, as it has been lamentable that a virtual whiteboard just doesn’t have the same feel…
Still… even virtually it remains a powerful therapy tool to help you visualize your struggles and brainstorm solutions! Though it has been very frustrating as a virtual whiteboard doesn’t have the same feel.
Now let me tell you why I’m qualified to help!
Yeah, time for all those boring creds…so you know a little about who you’re jumping in with (brace yourself!):
I obtained my Master’s of Science degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University in 2007. While in residence, I completed my practicum and internship at Peachford Behavioral Health Systems.
I had virtually every job there, including director of social services and director of outpatient services. During my tenure, I worked with a myriad of populations and issues, and bring that varied experience to benefit you.
I am a licensed professional counselor and a certified professional counselor supervisor in the state of Georgia. I spend half of my time at the office working with clients and the other half training new therapists.
I believe in advocacy and giving back to the community. In my spare time, I have volunteered for the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Green Cross Academy of Traumatology, and Georgia Public Safety and Training Center to educate and provide resources to our community for mental health needs.
TLDR
You’re a super successful woman, likely a perfectionist.
I work with perfectionist women who have a hard time saying no to shit.
Yep! You can do this! You can be helped and you can change!
I can help you do it!
I’m funny, I use wordy dirts, my whiteboard is my tail.
I’ll give you practical tools from the very first session of therapy, so that you can get started immediately.
Oh, and I’m qualified, I promise. I worked really hard to become so, and if you’d like to see how, please feel free. You may or may not notice the distinct similarities with perfectionists…
